ADURS is the new Telugu Movie in the hot combination of hero: Jr.NTR and director: VV.Vinayak. Nayanatara & Sheela are the female leads in this ADHURS film. ADURS has generated a lot of buzz due to the crazy combination, warnings from Telangana agitators, catchy music and the positive talk it generated prior to the release. Let’s get into the ADURS FILM REVIEW:

STORY: Narasimha (NTR) and Chari (NTR) are twins who get separated at the time of their birth. Chari works as an assistant priest to the main poojari: Bhattu or Bhattacharya (Brahmanandam). Bhattu takes care of Chandralekha (Nayanatara) in the absence of her father and keeps dreaming about his marriage with her. But, she eventually falls in love with our Chari. On the other hand, Narasimha is raised by his mother and works as an informer (undercover agent) to the police officer (Shiyaji Shinde) and falls in love with his beautiful daughter (Sheela). Then comes some expected tiwsts with some new negative characters. How the twins meet each other, fight against their common enemy and win back their lady love forms rest of the plot

HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Jr.NTR, Brahmanandam and the comedy episodes between both of them!
  • NTR’s energy in dances, variation in dialogues, ease in performance and comedy timing (in Chari role) are just superb…

PITFALLS:

  • Half cooked Narasimha character
  • Lousy screen-play, boring episodes post interval and bad climax will surely work against the success of this OK OK entertainer from VV Vinayak.

FINAL ANALYSIS: VV Vinayak is trying for a different image and this is his 2nd film (after Krishna) in the process. He has just used the old-age drama of twins seperation and getting united over the film’s run. Though he has succeeded in generating the much required laughter in the 1st half, he has failed in elevating the Narsi’s character and in the end, he has given us a “Old Wine in New Bottle” kind of film. Nayanatara has no scope to perform and Sheela has got an opportunity for ample skin show…! Jr.NTR should learn more about dress-sense and Sheela should learn more of acting sense to grow in their careers!

Technical elements like photography, editing, dialogues, etc have nothing to boast about. Songs interrupt us from falling into boredom (in 2nd half). But, ADURS can be easily watched once for NTR, Brahmi and few songs.

Overall, ADHURS has all the ingredients to become a decent hit with many entertaining episodes all over…!
