సచిన్ టెండూల్కర్: అసాధ్యమనుకున్న గెలుపు కలని తన ఒంటరి పోరుతో తీర్చబోయి చివరి అడుగులో తడబడటం తట్టుకోలేకపోతున్నా… మిగతా ఆటగాళ్ళు అందరు కలిసి సచిన్ (ఇండియా కూడా) ఓడిపోయే లాగ చేసినందుకు సిగ్గుపడాలి (ముఖ్యంగా జడేజా). టీం ఓడిపోవడం చూసి సచిన్తో పాటు కోట్లాది అభిమానుల గుండె పగిలి ఉండాలి. ఇప్పటికైనా సచిన్ తన సహచరుల మీద నమ్మకం తగ్గించుకుంటే ఇండియా కి మంచిది. నేను క్రికెట్ చూడటం మొదలు పెట్టిన రోజుల్లో లాగానే ఇంకా ఇంత భారాన్ని ఇష్టం తో మోస్తున్నందుకు సచిన్ ని క్రికెట్ కి “దేవుడు” అనాలా ఇంకేమన్నా అనాలా ????

తెలుగు టీవీ మీడియా: “మెరుగైన సమాజం కోసం“…. ఈ మాట ఎక్కడో విన్నట్లు ఉంది కదా?? ఇది ఒక తెలుగు న్యూస్ చానల్ కాప్షన్. వారం రోజులుగా వీళ్ళు చేస్తున్న హడావిడి, హంగామా, కవరేజ్ చూస్తుంటే సిగ్గేస్తుంది. సినిమా హీరో రాజశేఖర్ & జీవిత ని స్టూడియో కి పిలిచి, రెచ్చకొట్టి, లేని పోని విషయాలు తవ్వి – వాళ్ళు చిరంజీవి ని అడ్డమైన మాటలు అనేవరకు పుల్ల పెట్టి, ఆ తంతుని “లైవ్ షో” అని టెలికాస్ట్ చేస్తున్న వాళ్ళని ఏమనాలి. దాని వల్ల జరిగేది ఒక్కటే – అభిమానులు రెచ్చిపోయి ఎమన్నా చేస్తే (నిరసనలు, బెదిరింపులు….), చక్కగా దానిని రికార్డ్ చేసి ఈ విషయాన్ని ఇంకా పెద్దది చేస్తే వాళ్లకి వచ్చే సునకానందం ఇంతా అంతా కాదేమో. ఎంత బాధ్యతా రాహిత్యమో కదా…

రాష్ట్ర కాంగ్రెస్: రాష్ట్రం రావణ కాష్ఠం లా రగిలిపోతుంది. మనం వోట్లు వేసి ఎన్నుకోని నాయకులు, ఎన్నికల్లో నిలబడితే డిపాజిట్ కూడా రాని పనికిమాలిన వ్యక్తులు మన రాష్ట్రాన్ని పరిపాలించడం చూస్తూ బాధతో నిస్సహాయం గా నిలబడటం తప్ప ఏమి చేయలేకపోతున్నాం. మాటకి ముందు మాటకి వెనకాల ఈ చేతకాని దద్దమ్మ లు వాడే పదాలు ఎంటయ్యా అంటే: “మేడం”, “అమ్మ”, “అధిష్టానం”…. సోనియా ఎవడికి అమ్మ నాయనా?? మీకా ?? రాష్ట్ర ప్రజలకా?? బాధ్యతలు గాలికి వదిలేసి అమ్మ చుట్టూ అధికారం కోసం ప్రదిక్షణలు ఇంకా ఎన్నాళ్ళు చేస్తారో?

చిరంజీవి & ప్రజారాజ్యం: చిరంజీవిని చూస్తుంటే జాలి వేస్తుంది. చిరు కి ఉన్న కోరిక ఏమిటో, ఆశయం ఏమిటో ఆయనగారికే తెలియాలి. మాతో కలిస్తే ఎప్పటికైనా ముఖ్యమంత్రి పదవి ఇస్తామని కాంగ్రెస్ లో ఒక వర్గం అనగానే ఆ వలలో చాలా తేలిగ్గా చిరు పడిపోయి ఈ రోజు గిలగిలలాడటం చూస్తుంటే నవ్వు వస్తుంది. జీవితం లో అన్నీ ఉన్నా పదవి మీద ఎందుకో ఇంత పిచ్చి. అండగా ఉంటామన్న అభిమానుల్ని పట్టించుకోకుండా వలస వాదుల్ని అందలం ఎక్కించి ఇప్పటికే అతి పెద్ద తప్పు చేసాడు అన్నయ్య. ప్రజల్లో మిగిలి ఉన్ననమ్మకాన్ని కూడా పోగుట్టుకునే దిశలో అడుగులు వేస్తున్నట్లు ఉంది ప్రజారాజ్యం పార్టీ…! చిరు కాంగ్రెస్ తో కలిస్తే మా పవన్ ఇప్పుడు ఎవరి మీద పోరాడాలి.

తెలుగు సినీ పరిశ్రమ: కోట్లకి కోట్లు సంపాదన, నిరంతర ఆదాయం, ప్రజల బలహీనతల్ని సొమ్ము చేసుకోవాలనే అత్యాశ: ఇవన్నీ మన సినిమా వాళ్ళ గుణాలు. “దొంగలు పడ్డ ఆరు నెలలకి కుక్కలు మొరిగినట్లు“, వరద భీబత్సం జరిగి నెల అయ్యాక ఇప్పుడేదో ఆడి, పాడి, రంజింప చేస్తే టిక్కెట్ల రూపం లో జనాలు ఇచ్చే డబ్బుల్ని పోగేసి విరాళాల రూపం లో మళ్ళా అదే పిచ్చి జనాలకి ఇచ్చి సేవ చేస్తారంట. పిచ్చ కామెడి గా ఉంది. ఏర్పాట్లు, బద్రత, ట్రాఫిక్ జామ్లు, మీడియా కవరేజి, మూడు రోజుల సెలవులు – వచ్చే ఆదాయం వీటికే సరిపోద్ది. ఎవరికీ వారు సహాయం చేస్తే ఎంత బాగుండేదో కదా? మన జేబులో నుండి ఒక్క రూపాయి తీయాలంటే ఎంత నరకమో వీళ్ళకి. ఈ తెలివి సినిమా ప్రేక్షకుడికి వచ్చి ఎవరూ టిక్కెట్లు కొనకపోతే పరిశ్రమకి వచ్చే నష్టం లెక్క కట్టలేనిది. నిజమైన సమాజ సేవ ఎప్పుడు చేస్తారో చూడాలి…!

Tamil and Telugu film industries were annoyed to see an half page article published by DinaMalar newspaper revealing the names of few prominent actresses and linking them with the ‘Flesh Trade‘ scandal. Few days back, character actress Bhuvaneswari [Click to see Photo] was arrested on the charges of running a brothal house in Chennai and running a sex racket. As per the news, DinaMalar was able to contact her and has published an article saying that it’s the confession report given by Bhuvaneswari herself.

Buvaneswari confessed that many other actresses in the industry are involved in this sex-racket. The names that she revealed include: Namitha, Nalini, Seetha, Manjula Vijaykumar, Shakeela, SriPriya & Anju. She said that the above mentioned celebrities have a good rapport with the film industry and Police department alike and as she doesn’t have that, she was being targetted by Police everytime. DinaMalar has published the article without any censoring the name list. Now, this has created a stir in the film fraternities all over and Nadigar Sangham has arranged a pressmeet last night condemning these reports. Rajinikanth, Vijayakanth, SarathKumar, etc have addressed the issue!

Happy Birthday to you...PAWAN

Yey! Today (September 2nd) is the birthday of Power Star PAWAN KALYAN and I wish him a great life ahead. Waiting to see his real potential get unfolded in the near future. I wish SATYAGRAHI movie starts again with Pawan directing it… and, more than anything, Mr.Perfect & Mr.Intellectual starts doing some meaningful films…!

While working for YuvaRajyam & PrajaRajyam’s website, I got to meet him personally for 1 hour sessions (twice) and needless to say that they were the most exciting moments of my life…. To be frank, I like him more in the REAL LIFE than in the REEL LIFE..

Just wanted to say something about Pawan Kalyan….

God created PAWAN KALYAN and gave him a distinct and aggressive personality. However when it came to choosing Pawan’s audience and fans, God assumed they should be like the rest of the mob. No different..!

I found JOHNNY (finally got the original DVD few months back) to be the best movie in PK’s career in terms of technical finesse, direction and treatment. The story had no takers in AP but that doesn’t mean it was a bad film. Sometimes you have a perfect script and a perfect movie but the audience denounces it completely.

Johnny suffered a fate it should not have. It went into the annals of history as a movie that didn’t and couldn’t. I would rather list it as a masterful movie that misguided Pawan Kalyan.

Johnny challenged the Formula. It went against the tide. And, it drowned. Pawan Kalyan registered his first ever flop, one of colossal proportions and he himself was responsible for it. It was a great movie with perfect treatment and excellent performances. The only drawback was that the audience did not understand what the movie was all about. They wanted to see Pawan Kalyan and were disappointed because the script rose above the star in this case. The love story was tender not loud. The chemistry between the lead pair was remarkable but not flashy. It was a subtle expression of celluloid magic not the pretentious cacophony of cliché-ridden Formula.

The disaster of Johnny caused another twist to Pawan Kalyan’s career. He realized that he had to stop trying for the perfect movie. All he had to do was to come up with a movie which would be liked by his fans. He had this obligation. He had to satisfy them. Though he had never conveyed to anybody that he would follow The Fomula, he had to finally succumb to the pressure of his fans. In my opinion this was the greatest damage done by Johnny to Pawan Kalyan. The financials are of course important. However instead of persisting with the new wave of cinema and making a bold statement to the world that he would not change, Pawan Kalyan chose to shun it all and started to accept the beaten-to-dead threads/scripts/paths. Sorry for my BOSS!

But, I wish that he will take a strong decision about his being. He doesn’t have to stick to the hit formulas. There are many other heroes (almost all the actors) to do the commercial films, but none of them can think of acting/directing a master-piece.

If we see the movies of PAWAN KALYAN after Johnny, we can easily understand his idea behind his approval of those subjects…

Gudumba Shankar: Might have thought that the ‘lack-of-comedy’ was the main reason for Johhny’s failure. He made this film for giving an out and out entertainer for his fans. In the process, he went overboard and faltered at times. Though the comic timing was perfect, the universal appeal was missing.

Balu ABCDEFG: Liked the Mafia Mania and given a green signal to Karunakaran.. Confused script with stupid flashback episodes of hero’s family. Movie was a mixture with over action comedy and some serious Mumbai Mafia episodes…

Bangaaram: Trusted the Tamil director and given us a below par faction film. Wanted to try the No-Love-Pair thread, but hasn’t worked out.

Annavaram: Again, Tamil film all the way… But, we can see Pawan’s energy coming back at times in the film. He was perfect in sentiment and action episodes.

Jalsa: At last, Pawan might have thought that he should stop worrying about what his fans like and rather do a film which can resemble his past-HIT-movies… He gave Jalsa and it satisfied many a fans and general audience. Still, seems confused about the message he wanted to give. Can clearly say that he directed the pre-interval and post-interval episodes and lost the grip there after….

I strongly hope that THERE WILL BE AN END to this ideas & thoughts about his fans in the coming years and PAWAN KALYAN stands as an icon for GREAT TELUGU CINEMA…. Happy Birthday!

OY FILM REVIEW: 3.25 / 5

Hmm………. SHAMILI (once Baby Shamili) isn’t that great looking in the film OY. OY film has few wonderful scenes, music and photography. Siddardh was very good as a lover boy who tries hard to fulfull his lady love’s wishes before she dies. Napolean, Krishnudu, Surekha & Sunil are also good.

SHAMILI has got a nice role to perform and she has done it with great ease & naturality. Though she doesn’t bring the glamour quotient to the table, she was able to make a mark with her superb performance. The movie itself is a mix of many films like Maniratnam‘s Geetanjali, Pawankalyan‘s Johnny (both were again inspired by hollywood film: LoveStory).

It will be a bit letdown for the people who have expected a lot from SHAMILI, but for normal audience, SHAMILI is here to stay!

HIGHLIGHTS: The OYE MOVIE can be watched once for it’s lighter vein comedy (doesn’t work at times though), wonderful chemistry between lead pair of Siddardh & Shamili, really nice sentiment scenes & touching climax. Great visuals & music add to the merits list.

Baby SHAMILI was shot to fame with ManiRatnam‘s ANJALI film. Later, she acted in many Telugu & Tamil films like: Joker, Killer, Jagadeka Veerudu Atiloka Sundari, etc. After a decade, she is making her entry as heroine opposite to Siddardh in his latest Telugu film: OY (Oye…!). Shamili’s pictures were not released to increase the curiosity levels and we might see her directly in the film.

RP Singh of Deccan Chargers

I’ve seen RP SINGH at the PUMA Brand Shop, Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad today @ around 3pm. He was there with few other players for the launch of Jersey (Official Dress for Fans & Players) of Deccan Chargers Team. The T-Shirts were priced @ 799 per piece and there was a huge gathering to get one. I’ve bought one as well. I hope Deccan Chargers will improve a lot in this year’s IPL series in South Africa in the captaincy of Adam Gilchrist.

Deccan Chargers has VVS Laxman, Symonds, Chaminda Vaas, Chamara Silva, Dwayne Smith, Ryan Harris, Zoysa, Gibbs, Styris in their line-up of international stars apart from local players like: Venugopal & Kalyan.
