Illeana & Vishnu in YVS's SALEEM
SALEEM is the latest telugu movie directed by YVS Choudary (Devdas, Lahiri Lahirilo fame). His last film (Okka Magaadu) was a major disaster and this film’s hero Vishnu (has got only one hit film: DHEE until now) is also desperate for a success. Mohanbabu has spent whopping 23 crores on this movie and we will need to see if the film has that much potential. Illeana (Devdas, Pokiri, Jalsa fame) is the heroine….
ANALYSIS of SALEEM MOVIE: Saleem will be a great test for one’s patience. The horrible feeling that you’ll come out of the theatre will surely be price-less.
My only hope before booking the ticket was director YVS‘s initial movies and I expected that he would have learnt from his previous disaster (Okka Magadu). But, he disappoints us again.
And, hero Vishnu…. oh! boy! I can’t stop laughing at myself for being in the theater to watch this MB’s son doing all the gimmicks to impress the audience… He is an utter failure even though he tried his best to show some improvement!
The movie is packed with dull script, screen-play, songs, dialogues, comedy and performances. What else is left??? It’s filled with cheap humor, false build-ups, sexual orientation between the lead pair than any kind of love bond, etc, etc…
Illeana tried her best to woo the audience (at least her admirers) with her navel show and Shakira-like movements. But, YVS should have concentrated more on the film than using Illeana’s glamor quotient (if there’s one). More than that, most of the Illeana’s costumes doesn’t suit her.
SONGS suck big time except the “Kalthee Kalthee….!” song. Mohanbabu tried his best to save the film with his dialogue delivery (but, it’s no different from his previous films). He is supported by seducing Kaveri Jha and comedian Raghubabu… Venkat (Acted as MB’s brother) and Mukesh Rishi just irritates us with their performances!
Personal Note: What does they (Vishnu, Manoj, Vishal, etc) think of themselves?? They clearly lack the looks/charm required for a hero. Instead of realizing the fact and selecting subjects that gives them scope to perform, they are still persisting with Megastar/Superstar kind of roles… It just takes their common sense to change!
Anyway, please avoid this dud from MohanBabu’s production house (MB has showcased his eye for vulgarity again with this SALEEM movie) if you want some relief…! How can a college/school owner like MB show a lady-teacher in such a vulgar way… God knows…!
IRONY: Hero: VISHNU‘s previous film – Krishnarjuna was a major flop…. Heroine: ILLEANA‘s last film – Recchipo was another flop…. Director: YVS‘s previous film – OkkaMagaadu is an all time disaster… Music Director: SANDEEP CHOWTHA‘s last film – Josh was super flop…. Saleem’s another hero/producer: MOHANBABU‘s previous outing – RajuMaharaju was also a decent flop… These many flopsters coming together for giving us the “WORST FILM of 2009” is certainly an irony….!
