KRISHNUDU (Vinayakudu fame) tries his luck today with the sequel VILLAGE LO VINAYAKUDU..
MEGASTAR Chiranjeevi has copied Micheal Jackson’s THRILLER video in one of his old films: DONGA. The song name was “Golimaaaar…!” After watching this video, many people got impressed with the dance (wierd movements) & the music. There were 100′s of videos uploaded to YouTube as INDIAN THRILLER. This is one of those videos which is a parody done by few young girls… Enjoy!

Prabhas in EK NIRANJAN
EK NIRANJAN is the latest telugu movie in the direction of Poori Jagannadh. Prabhas pairs with bollywood hottie: Kangana Ranaut (Gangster, Metro, & Fashion fame) and Manisharma‘s music is already a success. Poori & Prabahs are desperate for a hit film and we’ll need to wait to see whether this EK NIRANJAN provides the much needed break for their respective careers!

STORY: Chotu (Prabhas) gets kidanapped when he was a child and put into beggar life by a gangster known as Chidambaram (Makrand). He grows up and becomes a local goon who collects commission from Police to catch criminals in the city. In the process he clashes with Johnny Bhai (Sonu Sood), the local mafia leader. At the same time, he falls in love with Sameera (Kangana Ranaut), a guitar teacher and sister of another local goon. Rest of the story is about the lead pair coming together by fighting against the villians….!
PERFORMANCES: PRABHAS is getting repetitive with his slang and dialogue diction. Though he tried to look different and acted with a lot of ease, the role doesn’t give him chance to perform. KANGANA is a perfect mis-fit and lacks the south indian quotient in her looks/appearance. She tried to ooze with lots of skin show, which will not work in her favor. SONU SOOD is very good and looks like improving a lot with every film. BRAHMANANDAM & ALI‘s comedy track is better not to talk about. They fail to evoke any laughter. Others like TANIKELLA, POSANI, VENUMADHAV are just ok. Bollywood imports: MAKRAND & MUKUL DEV were wasted.
TECHNICAL: It’s high time for director POORI JAGANNADH to come out of Pokiri & Bangkok mania. The script is so week and his sub-standard screenplay adds to that. Though the dialogues were good at times, the timing was not that great. His obsession with too much of camera jerks irritate us at times. Music by MANISHARMA is good with few catchy numbers. The Micheal Jackson Tribute song is of such a bad taste. Other technicians have tried their best to make up for a poor script.
HIGHLIGHTS: Hero Prabhas’s screen presence, SonuSood & Brahmaji’s conversations, 2 songs and…. that’s it!
PITFALLS: Poor story & screen-play, lack of entertainment, not so great picturization of songs, excessive showcase of violence.
FINAL ANALYSIS: EK NIRANJAN starts on an ok note and goes to interval with some entertaining and engaging episodes. The movie takes a wrong turn post the interval and from there on, it starts testing our patience. It is filled with boring elements written all over and looks like the makers have just made the film for front benchers. Though the film has it’s own merits & high points, it falls flat in the end. We come out of the theatre with a sigh of relief. Poori should start thinking of brand new concepts/characters/back-drops immediately to regain his lost glory.
EK NIRANJAN might strike a chord with masses in the initial days, but, it will surely end up as a below average film from the much talked about combination of Poori & Prabhas….!

I’m very happy to know that Blu-Ray is finally happening for a Telugu Film and Nagarjuna’s KING movie gets the credit for this feat! Blu-Ray plays at a Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 and we can easily see the improvement in quality. The KING Blu-Ray is realeased worldwide (except in India) yesterday and Chennai based Prasad EFX have done this Blu-Ray. Bhavani DVD & Uni Ads have produced this Blu-Ray disc.

This definitely gives a lot of hope on the quality offerings from DVD manufacturers. At present, some of the DVDs are pathetic to watch (examples: MURAARI, CHUDALANI UNDHI, etc)…. Let’s hope for the best.
PS: The KING Blu-Ray is priced at $25 and when it releases in India, it will surely be priced at 399 or 499. But, as the Blu-Ray players are yet to catch-up in India, the makers might wait for the Blu-Ray disc’s release!
