Vedam's Poster

VEDAM is the 2nd film for director Krishh (debuted with GAMYAM) and the promos are very interesting indeed. Allu Arjun, Anushka & Manoj are the main leads. MM Keeravani’s music is already topping the charts! Let’s get on with the detailed review of VEDAM Movie…!

TECHNICAL : Krishh succeeds as a director, but he falters with his script at times. There’s no strong orientation for Rockstar (Manoj) and Saroja (Anushka)’s characters. They should have got more establishment episodes. Cinematography is simply perfect with awesome frame-work in the initial gully-chase and the climax episode. Gnanasekhar‘s photography elevates the title song too… (though it’s not situational)… Editing is also pretty good with hardly any boring episodes or jumping scenes….

It’s MM Keeravani who steals the show with some great songs and touching Re-Recording work (especially his Shehnai instrument and his voice in the background)….

PERFORMANCES: Manchu Manoj is cool as an aspiring Rock Singer. His body language is terrific in the highway-fight! Lekha Washington looks good as his jodi. New comer: Nagayya suited the role of an old man and he is realistic through out the film. Sharanya (Nagayya’s daughter-in-law) gave a commendable performance. Manoj Bajpai is apt in the role of a discriminated Muslim citizen. He shines in the Ganesh Chaturdi scene…

Anushka is just OK in the role of a prostitute: Saroja. Though her guts to accept such a role deserves an appreciation, her face is not that expressive to seduce. But, she tried hard to get into the shoes of Saroja… good attempt though!

Allu Arjun is just simple and terrific as a cable operator: Raju. His character starts growing on us as the movie continues and it makes us laugh, cry and become speechless at times. He is lucky enough to get some of the best scenes in the movie. More than the opportunity, it’s his performance that deserves the kudos!

FINAL ANALYSIS: Though Vedam is a commercial film, it will surely need some great mouth-talk to hit the roof in the end. Vedam is surely one of it’s kinda movie made in this era of sleazy dialogues and out-fits, bomb-blasts, axe/sword fights, item songs, etc. It’s really a memorable experience of watching a great film which comes only twice or thrice in an year…!

Way to go Krissh: the sheer pressure of delivering a hit with his 2nd movie hasn’t altered his sensitivities towards other human beings….!

Note: Though the story-line, characters and treatment of Vedam were inspired by many films like: Crash (English), etc – Vedam is a MUST WATCH for it’s heart touching scenes/music/performances throughout the flick!
