OOSARAVELLI Movie Review: 2.5 / 5**

Ntr & Tamanna in OOSARAVELLI

INTRO: Jr.NTR’s latest film: OOSARAVELLI is at best a mediocre to average film. Director Surender Reddy’s technical finesse has been on a declining path and this movie proves the same. Even after giving a dud like ASHOK to him, Jr.NTR has given the director another chance to prove his mettle which went in despair.

HIGHLIGHTS: Though it’s very hard to point out the bright aspects, we can mention few:

Tamanna’s performance in flash back episode
Flashback episode of NTR & Tamanna (especially during the “Sri Anjaneyam” song)

DRAWBACKS: Out of the many pitfalls, few stand out:

Forced comedy track with some stale jokes
NTR’s inconsistent looks
Repeated Don/Dubai/Bhai characters
Songs are not that good on-screen

FINAL ANALYSIS: For me, OOSARAVELLI lacks the punch to satisfy the audience. Songs, Screenplay, Story, Hero: none of them impressed me. Except for Tamanna’s different look and performance after she getting operated in the flashback episode, nothing in the film stands out. In the end, OOSARAVELLI is an ORDINARY FILM WITH NO SURPRISES. The film might run well until the 1st weekend and might get a huge fall in box-office collections there after…!

DOOKUDU Movie Review: 3.25 / 5***

Mahesh in Dookudu

STORY: Ajay (Mahesh), the super cop goes under cover to catch the Mafia Don Nayak (Sonu Sood). On the other hand he wants his father Shankar Narayan (Prakash Raj) to live a peaceful life even if it takes him to create an illusive world. Whether his father comes to know about the truth behind his life and how our Ajay finishes off Mr.Nayak forms rest of the plot…

HIGHLIGHTS: Film has them in plenty

Mahesh’s awesome screen presence with a super smile and a punch every now & then.
Brahmanandam’s character (to an extent)
MS Narayana’s sympathetic characterization
Dialogues and different accents used
Father-Son relation portrayal
Confrontation episodes with the heroine in the 1st half

PITFALLS: Though they can be overlooked at times, it’s hard to ignore them:

Film is too lengthy
Lack of originality in the script/story (just a rehash of previous hit flicks)
Below-par songs (audio/visuals)
Comedy/Family/Action episodes becomes boring after few minutes

ANALYSIS: It hardly takes us 2 minutes to realize that the film is going to follow the Pokiri mania. As the film moves on, we also get to see resemblances to many other previous hit films like: Athadu, Ready, King & Dhee. But, do we need to dig deeper into that? NO will be the answer as this DOOKUDU film is going to break the Box-Office records and will be widely accepted.

Dookudu has superb performance, dialogues by hero: Mahesh. He is accompanied by some comedians and this is the THING that works out in favor of the film. Boring action episodes and family drama might not deter the chances of film’s success. Samantha looks like a wanna be heroine with lots of paint on her face (she is miles away from her JESSIE’s beauty). Too many characters and too many sub-plots will confuse us and in turn create some entertainment. Everything said and done, SUCCESS matters and Sreenu Vaitla can be an ultra-happy director with another super-hit in his bag!

Just GO & WATCH the film for the amount of FUN it generates. Mahesh & Sreenu Vaitla’s combo will be remembered for a while…!

If there’s a movie in the recent times that got me involved in the characters from start to the end, it has to be RAM GOPAL VARMA‘s RAKTHA CHARITHRA-1. Though the movie is very serious and full of bloodshed, you can’t deny that it just blows you away with some great screen-play, back-ground score and simple yet amazing cinematography…!

KHALEJA Movie Review: 3.5 / 5

Intro: It’s been a while since I’ve written a proper movie review and I just wanted to share my personal opinions this time [more to contradict with the bad talk the movie generated]. I’ve absolutely loved the KHALEJA film despite of negative talk/reviews. The effort to make a different film has to be appreciated. Detailed review of Mahesh’s KHALEJA movie follows:

HIGHLIGHTS:

Movie is full of STYLE
Cinematography was just brilliant
“Sadhaa Shiva Sanyaasi..” song was superb
Mahesh’s body language, costumes, dialogue modulation, intensity/ease in performance
Iron-Leg episodes b/w Anushka, Mahesh, Ali, Sunil
Non-Stop one-liners from Trivikram as usual

PITFALLS:

Improper characterization of Prakash Raj along with no proper or confusing establishment of villain’s motto!
Songs just suck [to listen] and how much ever Trivikram tried to make them look good, they failed him
Anushka’s performance and her chemistry with Mahesh is so boring

Final Analysis:

Mahesh’s character kept on growing with me and if songs had been better – Khaleja would been an average at least..

I strongly feel that Trivikram’s films take their own sweet time to get digested/understood and this will not be an exception.

I know that I will be in the minority league of people who liked the KHALEJA movie though!

Hope God listens to this and save this film from biting the dust [as the whole online/offline media is projecting]…
